The Village provides numerous facilities and activities

Care Centre

This newly upgraded facility has a combined 31 bed capacity for temporary and permanent patients with trained and dedicated staff.

Community Building

This building houses a dining room, hairdressing salon, library, and homely lounge. Other activities that emanate from this building are social gatherings, Bible Studies, church services and gym exercises, to name but a few.

Meals and private functions

mealBalanced meals at affordable prices are prepared daily by a full-time private caterer. Spacious entertainment areas simplify arrangements for private functions and special occasions. Special effort is put into preparing meals for residents and visitors. It is an easy option to invite family and friends for a meal without any fuss or bother. By arrangement meals can also be delivered to your cottage/flat.

 

Administrative Office

The administrative office takes care of the administration and financial aspects of running the Village and protecting the interests of the residents. Services such as the sending/receiving of faxes, e-mails, notices and newsletters are provided. The friendly staff are always willing to help where they can.

The Village also has a full time maintenance group to ensure the overall good condition of the cottages, flats, roads, etc.

Medical Services

A qualified nursing sister is available from Monday to Friday to attend to the minor needs of residents and a medical practitioner has a room in the Village where patients can be attended to four days per week. He also makes house calls.

Transport Service

The Village has a minibus and transport is arranged to various shopping centres and entertainment venues on a regular basis.

 

 

Social Clubbraai

The social club is responsible for arranging excursions to places of interest. Bring and Buy, card games, Bingo evenings, Bring and Braai and other social events take place on a regular basis. Activities such as bowls, snooker, croquet and training sessions are also available.

 

Hairdressing Salon

A favourite activity for the ladies but the gentlemen are also regular visitors. The salon specialises in cutting, colouring, curling and blow-drying. Non-residents are welcome but booking is essential.

 

 

Library

The library is run by residents and there is a constant flow of books which ensures a variety of reading matter for the enthusiastic reader.

New reading material is often donated and there is also a collection of DVDs and puzzles that can be borrowed. Books are issued free of charge.

 

Post boxes/Pigeon holes

Residents utilise the Village’s Private Bag. Post is collected, sorted and then placed in the individually numbered pigeon holes in the community centre.

 

Laundry

Laundry facilities consist of a washing machine and a tumble dryer available at a small fee 24/7 (24hours per day seven days a week).

Swimming Pool

The Village has a sparkling clean open air pool.

Security.

The Village is justifiably proud of the security personnel who ensure 24hour security with patrolling guards and 24 hour entrance control at the main gate. Electric fencing is attached to the perimeter walls. Residents feel secure and can sleep with open windows.

Residents also monitor the wellbeing of their immediate neighbours through the “Buddy” system.

Gardens

The Village gardens are maintained by a private company, but residents who wish to get involved are welcome to give special attention to the garden area in the proximity of their cottage or flat.
